Advocacy for those affected by FASD

The Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Care Action Network (CAN) New Zealand is a non-profit organization that provides support, education, and advocacy for individuals and families affected by FASD in New Zealand. It aims to raise awareness about the dangers of alcohol consumption during pregnancy and the lifelong impacts it can have on children. The new website is a valuable resource for healthcare providers, educators, and policymakers, as it provides them with the information and resources they need to better understand and support individuals affected by FASD. With its commitment to providing ongoing support and updating the website based on user feedback, FASD CAN New Zealand is helping to create a better future for those affected by FASD.

Rebrand their image and redesign their outdated website in a user-centric manner. The objetive was to create a platform for individuals and families affected by FASD to connect with others and access resources.

Solution

The new site features a new modern design, restructured navigation information architecture. It also acts as an interactive platform to connect with others affected and share their experiences. The site also builds empathy through engaging content and imagery.

BRAND

The new logo incorporates the symbolism of manaia-koru carving: 'With shared strength, guidance and wisdom, those with FASD can grow and achieve'. The new brand also includes a graphic panel which brings to mind the iconic Māori woven kete. The weave pays homage to foundation, whānau/family and whakapapa/genealogy demonstrating their strengths where strengthening is required.
